I like my VRAI Basque beret a great deal and wore it as a performer and as an all-around town hat. It was comfortable in lots of weather, as wool does breathe, and while clearly not a sweltering equatorial style lid, it's also easy to roll and stash when going hatless/indoors. This is NOT a military commando-style beret. It is meant to be worn small or large on the head as suits the wearer best. It does not have an overage of fabric at the sides and crown...well, actually a small bit to tilt in a direction if you want. I did.
I also want to say I have been buying from Meyer for many years. This is a straight-up, quality materials, fit, and finish hat shop. Huge respect and appreciation for wonderful custome rservice.
